The Indian Super League (ISL) is a professional football league in India that was founded in 2013. It is one of the two top-tier football leagues in the country, alongside the I-League. The ISL is a closed league, meaning that teams cannot be promoted or relegated. The league is currently contested by 11 teams, with each team playing 20 matches in the regular season. The top four teams in the regular season qualify for the playoffs, with the winner of the playoffs being crowned the ISL champions

The league also receives significant financial support from the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and other sponsors.
