Bumrah Out of T20 Series Against England

Jasprit Bumrah will miss India's upcoming T20 series against England due to a back injury. The fast bowler experienced back spasms during the fifth Test against Australia, which hindered his ability to bowl in the second innings. This injury contributed to India's defeat, as Australia clinched the series 3-1, regaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

With Bumrah sidelined, the Indian T20 squad will see the return of Mohammed Shami, who has been out for over a year due to a knee injury sustained during the 50-over World Cup final against Australia in November 2023. The T20 series against England is set to take place from January 22 to February 2, followed by a three-match one-day international series.

Suryakumar Yadav will lead the T20 squad, which includes wicketkeeping options Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel, along with key players like Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya. Despite Bumrah's absence, the team will look to build on their recent performances, including Bumrah's impressive showing in the India vs Australia series, where he took 32 wickets across five Tests, earning accolades from cricket legends.
