India PD Team Triumphs with Rajesh`s Historic Century

The Indian Physical Disability cricket team achieved a remarkable 29-run victory over England PD in their second league match at the PD Champions Trophy 2025, held at the FTZ Cricket Grounds in Katunayake, Sri Lanka. Batting first, India set a competitive target of 191 runs in their 20 overs, highlighted by Rajesh Kannur's historic century. Kannur made history as the first-ever PD cricketer to score a century in a multi-nation tournament, finishing with an impressive 100 runs. His innings was well-supported by Ravindra Sante, who added 45 runs off just 24 balls.

In response, England struggled to chase down the target, managing to score only 162 runs. India's bowlers played a pivotal role in the victory, with Radhika and Jithendra taking crucial wickets during the powerplay. Ravindra Sante also excelled with the ball, claiming 2 wickets for 24 runs in his four overs. Despite a strong performance from England's Will Flynn, who scored 87 runs off 41 balls, including eight sixes, the team fell short of the target.

Indian skipper Vikrant Keni praised the team's execution, emphasizing the significance of Rajesh Kannur's century and the disciplined bowling performance that led to their victory. This win solidifies India's position as a strong contender in the ongoing PD Champions Trophy 2025.
