In the men's singles quarterfinals, world No. 1 Shi Yuqi faced a tough challenge against Taiwan's world No. 9 Chou Tien-chen. The match was a nail-biter, with Shi ultimately prevailing 21-16, 19-21, 21-17 after 76 minutes of intense play.
