Manchester City`s Mixed Fortunes

Manchester City has experienced a mixed bag of results and challenges as the year 2024 comes to a close. In the Premier League, Manchester City managed to secure their fourth consecutive title despite a tumultuous season. After a penalty shoot-out defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, City rebounded with an impressive unbeaten run, winning 19 games and drawing four to overtake Arsenal and finish two points clear at the top.

However, their hopes of a domestic double were dashed when Manchester United defeated them 2-1 in the FA Cup final. The new season saw City start strongly, beating Manchester United on penalties in the Community Shield, but they soon faced a 13-game unbeaten run being ended by Tottenham in the League Cup last-16.

Injuries took a significant toll on the team, leading to a poor run of form where City won just once in 13 games. They ended the year on a positive note, however, with a 2-0 win over Leicester City in Pep Guardiola's 500th game as manager.
