Baylor Dominates Utah in Big 12 Opener

In the Big 12 conference opener, the 25th-ranked Baylor Bears decisively defeated the Utah Utes with a score of 81-56 on Tuesday. The game, held in Waco, Texas, saw Baylor lead from the outset, scoring the first 11 points of the game in just over five minutes, including two layups by Jeremy Roach.

V.J. Edgecombe was the top scorer for Baylor, contributing 19 points. Three other Baylor players, Norchad Omier, Jeremy Roach, and Robert Wright II, each scored 15 points. Omier also had a notable performance with 14 rebounds, marking his seventh double-double of the season and the 75th of his career.

Utah, playing its first Big 12 game, struggled to keep pace. Hunter Erickson led the Utes with 13 points, while Mason Madsen added 10 points. Utah's starting point guard, Miro Little, a transfer from Baylor, had a tough game, going scoreless in 25 minutes with 0-for-9 shooting.

Baylor's strong performance extended their winning streak to four games since their last loss to UConn. The Bears will face a tough test next as they travel to play No. 3 Iowa State on Saturday. Utah will host Texas Tech on the same day.
