One of the highlights of their season was a victory over the Kentucky Wildcats during the SEC/ACC Challenge at Littlejohn Coliseum. This win, along with other challenging non-conference games, has helped Clemson build a solid foundation for their tournament bid.
Despite losses to Boise State, Memphis, and South Carolina, all of which were in Quad 1 and 2 matchups, Clemson has been handling business against the teams they are expected to defeat. This consistency has been crucial in keeping them comfortably within the projected field of 68.
According to projections by Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report, Clemson is currently seeded as the No. 7 seed in the East Region, with their first-round opponent being the No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes. This potential matchup would be played in Raleigh, North Carolina, which could give Clemson an edge due to the ACC-friendly crowd.
Clemson has also started strong in ACC play, going 2-0 ahead of hosting the Stanford Cardinal on January 1. Their current NET ranking of No. 36 further solidifies their position as a contender for an at-large bid.
