Novak Djokovic Targets Consistency in 2025

:As the tennis world gears up for the 2025 season, Novak Djokovic has made a strong statement about his intentions and expectations. The 37-year-old tennis legend, who currently sits seventh in the ATP Rankings, is set to begin his 2025 campaign at the Brisbane International, an ATP 250 event running from December 29 to January 5.

Djokovic, who has not played a competitive match since his defeat to world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the final of the Shanghai Masters in October, expressed his desire for more consistency across all tournaments in the upcoming season. He aims to play and win more tournaments in 2025 than he did in the previous year and is targeting an improvement in his ranking to where he believes it should be.

`I haven’t played [for] a couple of months any official tournaments, I finished my season quite early,` Djokovic said. `Just took some time to physically recover and get myself in the right shape and I’m excited to start the new season with a tournament before the Australian Open.`

Djokovic will face Australian wildcard Rinky Hijikata in the opening round of the Brisbane International and is looking forward to a strong start to the season. He also outlined his long-term goals, stating that he feels he can `go strong for years to come` and is motivated to continue competing at the highest level.

In addition to Djokovic's plans, other notable players are also preparing for the new season. Aryna Sabalenka, the world No. 1, is looking to win a non-hard-court major in 2025, having swept the hard-court Slams in 2024 but still seeking victories at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
