Madison Kolessar set a new school record in the 1650 free with a time of 16:12.57, narrowly beating the previous record by 0.01 seconds. Kaden Smesko achieved a school and pool record in the 200 backstroke, clocking 1:41.55. Amy Riordan and Greta Pelzek also secured pool records in the 200 backstroke (1:52.89) and 200 butterfly (1:54.75), respectively.
Sophie Verzyl, a junior, broke two pool records in the 3-meter diving event, first at Duke's pool with a score of 390.53 and then at UNCW's pool with a score of 398.03. Verzyl's performances have been particularly impressive, earning her four SEC Diver of the Week honors, the most in the conference.
On the national stage, Verzyl collected two medals at the USA Diving Winter Nationals in December. She won a bronze medal in the 3-meter synchro event and a silver medal in the 1-meter event with 505.95 points.
The team's success is also reflected in their rankings, with the women's program consistently ranked among the top 25 in the country by the CSCAA. Individually, several Gamecocks rank within the top 10 in the SEC in various events.
