🔸 Had a breakout rookie year in 2023
🔸 Fractured his fibula 11 games in - out for season
🔸 Started to recover from injury
🔸 Shot in the leg as part of a mass shooting in April 2024
🔸 Recovered to participate in Texans’ OTAs 3 weeks later
🔸 Sustained major knee damage in Week 16 - out for season and likely more
That knee damage was gruesome.
In the Texans’ Week 16 loss to the Chiefs, Dell damaged his meniscus, tore his ACL, tore his LCL, and tore his MCL.
This year, Dell had been building on his impressive rookie season, and was 2nd on the team in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs.
Instead, with more than one surgery needed, he’ll be out the rest of the 2024 season, and likely all of the 2025 season as well.
It’ll be a tough journey back for the 25-year-old WR, who may not play an NFL game again until 2026.
But Tank Dell has persevered and fought through the past year with unwavering positivity.
And he'll bring that same spirit with him as he faces the long road ahead.
