Fury vs Usyk: Judges` Scores Spark Debate

The recent rematch between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on December 21 has sparked a heated debate among boxing promoters and fans regarding the judges' scorecards. Frank Warren, Fury's promoter, expressed his disagreement with the decision, stating that he believed Fury won the fight by a couple of rounds. Warren pointed out the inconsistency in the judges' scoring, particularly highlighting that one judge did not give Fury a round from round six onwards, while the other judges gave him one round each. He also mentioned that Oscar De La Hoya, who was present at the fight, shared his view that Fury won.

In contrast, Eddie Hearn, who has seen his fighter Anthony Joshua lose to Usyk in two consecutive fights, viewed the match as a draw. Hearn acknowledged the difficulty in splitting the fighters, noting that the consensus among many was that Usyk won, but he appreciated the uniformity in the judges' scores.

The outcome of this fight has significant implications for the heavyweight division. Discussions are now centered around Fury's future, with options including retirement or a potential final bout against Anthony Joshua. Meanwhile, Usyk is being linked to a second fight with Daniel Dubois in an effort to once again unify the heavyweight division.
