George Ford Stays at Sale Sharks

England rugby playmaker George Ford has decided to extend his stay at Sale Sharks, opting to remain with the club until the end of the 2025-26 season. Despite lucrative offers from French Top 14 clubs, including Toulon and Clermont Auvergne, Ford chose to exercise an option to extend his contract with Sale.

Ford's decision was influenced by his personal and professional contentment at the club. He expressed his love for being at home and around his family, as well as his commitment to helping Sale achieve success. Ford, who has been with Sale since the summer of 2022, recently showcased his skills in a 28-10 bonus-point win against Exeter, guiding his team expertly in adverse weather conditions.

This decision keeps Ford in contention for the England national team, unlike some of his peers who have moved to French clubs and become ineligible for selection. Ford is one of 17 England players with Enhanced Elite Player Squad contracts and is set to play a significant role in England's forthcoming Six Nations campaign.
