Mensik's performance in Doha was highlighted by his victory over Rublev, making him the youngest player to defeat a Top 5 opponent since Carlos Alcaraz beat Stefanos Tsitsipas at the 2021 US Open. This achievement helped Mensik break into the Top 100 in the PIF ATP Rankings for the first time.
Throughout the year, Mensik continued to make waves, representing Czechia at the Paris Olympics and reaching the third round at the US Open. He also advanced to back-to-back quarter-finals at the Rolex Shanghai Masters and the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, where he secured additional wins over Top 10 opponents, including Rublev and Grigor Dimitrov. These successes propelled him to a career-high ranking of No. 48 in the PIF ATP Rankings.
Mensik expressed his gratitude and honor upon receiving the award, thanking the fans and voters for their support. He will conclude his 2024 season by participating in the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF in Jeddah.
