Alexandre Muller showcased his resilience at the Rio Open, overcoming Tomas Martin Etcheverry in a tightly contested second-round match. Muller clinched victory with scores of 7-5, 7-6 (5), securing his place in the quarter-finals at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro. The match lasted two hours and eight minutes, during which Muller broke his opponent`s serve three times and won 62 percent of his second-serve return points. His performance included 25 winners, highlighted by a stunning forehand drop-shot on match point.

Muller will face Francisco Cerundolo next, who advanced after defeating Luciano Darderi.
