Badminton Highlights: Yonex Bendigo International and Upcoming Denmark Open

At the Yonex Bendigo International, which wrapped up on October 13, several thrilling matches marked the finals day. In the mixed doubles, the Singaporean pair Wesley Eng Keat Koh and Jin Yu Jia secured their first title together, defeating Chen Cheng Kuan and Lee Chih Chen of Chinese Taipei in a closely contested match that went to three games, with the final score being 22-20 in the third game.

In the men's singles, Shogo Ogawa from Japan dominated the finals, beating his compatriot Keisuke Fujiwara with a convincing 21-18, 21-9 win. Ogawa's calm composure and precise execution were key to his victory.

The women's singles saw Tanya Hemanth from India emerge victorious against Tung Ciou-Tong of Chinese Taipei, winning in two straight games, 21-17 and 21-19. Hemanth's consistent and accurate gameplay were pivotal in her win.

The men's doubles final was won by Po Li-Wei and Chen Cheng Kuan of Chinese Taipei, who outplayed India's Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi with a score of 21-14 in the second game after a tight first game.

Looking ahead, the Denmark Open 2024 is set to begin on October 15 and will feature top players like Loh Kean Yew of Singapore, who will face Naraoka Kodai of Japan in the first round. The tournament will be streamed live on various platforms, including the Olympic Channel and BWF TV YouTube channel.
