Fossil fuel firms 'spent £4bn on sportswashing'

According to a recent research, fossil fuel companies have sponsored sports with over £4 billion "in an attempt to divert attention from their role in fuelling the climate crisis and harming human health."
After analyzing more than 200 active deals, the environmental think tank New Weather Institute (NWI) concluded that "sport is increasingly one of the areas oil and gas companies are using to greenwash their reputation."
