Totò Schillaci, former striker of the Italian national team, has died.

Salvatore `Totò` Schillaci, the famous forward of the Italian National team, passed away at the age of 59. Schillaci had been hospitalized in Palermo for colon cancer treatments and left this world on September 18, 2024, after being admitted 11 days earlier.

During the 1990 World Cup, Schillaci stood out as the top scorer with six goals, earning the Golden Boot. He debuted as a substitute in the opening match against Austria, scoring in a 1-0 victory.

His international career was marked by only one other goal, scored in a 2-1 defeat against Norway during the Euro 1992 qualifiers.

Schillaci also played at the club level, showcasing his skills at Juventus and Inter Milan, before concluding his career in Japan with Jubilo Iwata.
