Muzala Samukonga Makes History In Zambia

Runner Muzala Samukonga has become only the third athlete in history to win a medal for Zambia at the Olympic Games after he managed to claim bronze in the menā€™s 400m final.

Samukonga, who timed 43.74 finished third behind Britain's Matthew Hudson-Smith (43.44) and eventual winner Quincy Hall (43.4 of United States.

Other Zambian athletes to have won medals are Samuel Matete in 1996 where he won a silver in 400m hurdles and Keith Mwila who won bronze in 1984 in light flyweight.
