'Coach had no knowledge of drone incident'

The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is certain that head coach of women's football Bev Priestman was unaware of the spying incident that has enveloped her team in controversy prior to the team's defense of the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Priestman's decision to withdraw from Thursday's opening game against New Zealand was accepted by the COC on Wednesday. Meanwhile, two members of the Canadian team, assistant coach Jasmine Mander and Canada football analyst Joseph Lombardi, were sent home due to allegations that they had used drones during two practices in New Zealand.
