Tadej Pogačar Wins the 2024 Tour de France

The 2024 Tour de France concluded on July 21st in Nice, with Tadej Pogačar claiming his third yellow jersey, confirming his dominance in professional cycling. Pogačar, riding for UAE Team Emirates, finished the race with an overall time of 83 hours, 38 minutes, and 56 seconds. This victory cements his place as one of the top cyclists of the era, having previously won the Tour in 2020 and 2021.

Pogačar faced stiff competition throughout the race, particularly from Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel. Despite this, his consistent performance in both mountain stages and time trials allowed him to maintain his lead. Notable performances included his victories in stages 4, 14, and 15, demonstrating his versatility and endurance.

The 2024 route, starting in Florence, Italy, and ending in Nice, France, featured a diverse mix of terrains, including eight flat stages, four mountain-top finishes, and two individual time trials. The change in the traditional finish from Paris to Nice was to accommodate the Paris 2024 Olympics.
