Garbine Muguruza named new tournament director

The women's tennis tour announced on Wednesday that Garbine Muguruza, the two-time Grand Slam champion who recently announced her retirement from competition, will serve as the tournament director for the WTA Finals, which will take place in Saudi Arabia from 2024–26.

Muguruza, who won the season-ending title in 2021, is the first former player to take control of the event.

This year, the competition for the top eight women's doubles teams and individual players will take place in Saudi Arabia for the first time. From November 2–9, Riyadh will host it.
