Doyle and Lynch take World Cup gold

At the third World Cup event in Poznan, Ireland's Philip Doyle and Daire Lynch made a significant pre-Olympic statement by winning gold in the men's double sculls.

In the process, they defeated the reigning Olympic champions, France.

Doyle and Lynch had not participated since the first World Cup in April, so they headed to Poznan for some much-needed racing before Paris after missing the Lucerne World Cup three weeks ago due to injuries.
