Yates retains Tour de Suisse lead with 2nd place

After a shortened stage six, British rider Adam Yates maintained his lead in the Tour de Suisse by finishing second to Joao Almeida of Portugal.

The stage was rescheduled from its original 151.1km route from Locarno to 42.5km due to snowfall that blocked the Nufenen Pass and prevented an alternative route across the Furka Pass.

Almeida, a teammate from UAE Team Emirates, closed Yates's 35-second advantage to 27 seconds. Tom Pidcock and Oscar Onley, two more Britons, are ranked seventh and eighth in the general classification rankings.
