Williams accuses Atletico fans of racist abuse

Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao scored in the 3-1 La Liga loss over Atletico Madrid after claiming he was being racially harassed by some of the home crowd.

The Spain winger requested that the action be stopped at Estadio Civitas Metropolitano by referee Juan Martinez halfway through the first half.

Before play resumed, Atletico players Antoine Griezmann and Jose Maria Gimenez seemed to urge their supporters to cease yelling. The game had been halted to make an announcement to the audience.
