John O'Shea's spell as Republic of Ireland interim

The temporary head coach of the Republic of Ireland, John O'Shea, has been given further time while Stephen Kenny's replacement is being sought.

For the squad's friendlies against Belgium and Switzerland in March, O'Shea assumed interim leadership. In June, he will guide the team against Portugal and Hungary.

The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) stated last week that it aims to have a permanent replacement for Kenny in place by the September kickoff of the Nations League.
