The London Marathon will become the world's first marathon to give equal prize money for wheelchair and able-bodied competitors.

The wheelchair prize pool has increased by $54,500 (£43,00 to $308,000 (£243,00, mirroring the amount allocated to able-bodied athletes.


All elite race winners at this year's London Marathon will receive $55,000 (£43,50.
