Hampton`s Emmani Shaw excelled in high jump, while Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Rutgers also achieved significant victories.

Hampton University`s track and field team showcased their talent at a competitive 33-team event held at Liberty on January 26, 2025. The team achieved an impressive seven top-five finishes, with standout performances highlighting their prowess. Emmani Shaw captured the women`s high jump title with a remarkable leap of 1.69m (5-6.5), solidifying her status as a top competitor in the event. Additionally, the men`s 4x400 relay team clinched first place, contributing to the team`s overall success.

Meanwhile, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men`s track and field team excelled at the Tierney Classic, securing seven victories. Nate Griepentrog led the charge, winning the mile run with a time of 4:15.96, narrowly defeating his teammate Carter Eckhoff, who finished in 4:18.00. EJ Kruse also made headlines by winning the 200m event, further enhancing the team`s strong showing.

Rutgers University`s Scarlet Knights demonstrated their strength as well, achieving first-place finishes in six events and a total of 13 top-three performances. Their consistent performance across various events highlights the depth of talent within their squad.

On the same day, the USATF Minnesota All Ages Indoor Track & Field Meet 4 was scheduled at the University of Minnesota Field House, promising exciting competition for athletes of all ages. Looking ahead, the 2025 USATF Indoor Championships are set to take place on February 22-23 in New York City, where top athletes will compete for national titles.
