Greath North Run: Tola décroche le semi marathon.

Le semi marathon de la Great North Run a été remporté chez les messieurs par l'Ethiopien Tamirat Tola avec un temps de 59 minutes 58 secondes. La 2e place est revenue à Bashir Abdi, le Belge d'origine Somalienne en réalisé un chrono de 1h1min20s alors qu'en 3e position on retrouve l'Ethiopien Muktar Edris en 1h1min54s. La légende britannique Mo Farah qui réalisait s dernière course a terminé 4e avec un chrono de 1h3min28s.
