The 2022 World Athletics Championships, which was held in the U.S. for the first time, came to an end on Sunday. Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and Sweden’s Armand Duplantis both broke world records in a stunning finish to the championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The U.S. team finished with 33 medals, including 13 gold, in its best performance ever at the event. Ethiopia, Jamaica, and Kenya tied in second place with their athletes winning 10 medals for each country.

China ranked fourth place with 6 medals. Jianan Wang and Bin Feng took home the gold medals in long jump and discus throw. Shot putter Lijiao Gong won silver and triple jumper Yaming Zhu took bronze. Ethnic Tibetan race walker Shijie Qieyang won two bronze.
