In a groundbreaking move for the sport, the Sepak Takraw Association of Malaysia (PSM) has officially decided to rebrand itself as the Sepak Takraw Federation of Malaysia. This pivotal decision was reached during an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on June 28, 2025, where an overwhelming two-thirds of delegates rallied behind the constitutional amendment for the name change. The rebranding is not merely cosmetic; it aims to align PSM with other prominent sports bodies that incorporate "Federation" in their titles, thereby enhancing its stature as the principal governing body of Sepak Takraw in Malaysia.

However, this transformation is contingent upon the approval of the Sports Commissioner, a step that remains pending. In tandem with this significant rebranding, the PSM also conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where the elections for the 2025-2028 term took center stage. In a show of confidence, Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan retained his presidency unopposed, while Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan was elected as deputy president, solidifying a leadership team poised to steer Malaysian Sepak Takraw into a new era.
