India`s young female wrestlers shine brightly, capturing 10 medals at the Under-17 Asian Wrestling Championships in Vietnam.

The Indian Women’s Team delivered a stunning performance at the Under-17 Asian Wrestling Championships in Vung Tau, Vietnam, clinching the overall Champion Trophy with an impressive haul of 10 medals: 5 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze. Among the standout athletes, Rachna (43 kg), Rutuja (46 kg), Moni (57 kg), Ashvini Vishnoi (65 kg), and Manisha (69 kg) each secured gold, showcasing their prowess on the mat.

Ashvini Vishnoi’s remarkable 2-0 victory over her Chinese opponent in the final highlighted her skill, while Manisha triumphed by fall against another Chinese wrestler, solidifying her place at the top. Tina Punia (61 kg) demonstrated her strength with a commanding 10-0 win against a Japanese rival in the quarterfinals, though she narrowly missed gold, settling for silver against a Kazakh wrestler. Silver medals also went to Chesta (40 kg) and Kajal (73 kg), while Anjali (49 kg) and Saarika (53 kg) earned bronze.

In the Greco-Roman category, Hardeep (110 kg) added to India’s glory with a gold medal, while Aditya Dileep Jadhav (48 kg) secured silver and Ritesh (60 kg), Sachin Kumar (80 kg), and Nitin Kumar (92 kg) brought home bronze. The Wrestling Federation of India commended the athletes and support staff for this historic achievement, reflecting the nation’s growing strength in wrestling.
