Hallby’s Defense Shines in Handbollsligan Season

Hallby’s strong defense and competitive spirit shine in Handbollsligan, setting the stage for an exciting future.

The 2024-25 season of Handbollsligan has concluded, leaving a trail of excitement and anticipation for the future. IF Hallby made a significant mark in the men’s league, finishing 8th with a stellar defensive record, allowing just 27.8 goals per match—the best in the league. Albin Broman emerged as the team’s top scorer, netting 121 goals, showcasing his prowess on the court.

Despite their impressive journey, Hallby faced a tough challenge in the SM playoffs, where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the formidable Ystads IF, the eventual champions. Head coach Jesper Östlund acknowledged Ystad’s dominance but commended his team’s resilience and performance throughout the season.

In the women’s league, IF Hallby also demonstrated their competitive spirit, finishing 7th and reaching the Final4 in the ATG Svenska Cupen, ultimately placing fourth in the tournament. Emma Wahlström led the scoring for the women’s team with an impressive 153 goals, despite injuries to key players like Gry Bergdahl and Elin Johansson. Coach Pär Axelsson fostered a strong morale within the squad, navigating through the challenges effectively.

As the dust settles on this season, the stage is set for what promises to be an exhilarating upcoming season in Svensk handboll.
