A second-half goal from midfielder Martin Zubimendi gave an injured Spain a hard-fought and well-earned 1-0 victory in Nations League Group A4 on Saturday, leaving Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel inconsolable.
Spain, who were missing seven of the starting lineup that defeated England 2-1 in the July Euro 2024 final, controlled the game from the start but didn't find the winner until the 79th minute, when Zubimendi scored his first goal for his nation.
