Wissam Ben Yedder to stand trial on charges

The Associated Press was informed on Monday by a court official that France football star Wissam Ben Yedder was placed under arrest over the weekend and will go on trial for the offense of "sexual assault in a state of inebriation."
The public prosecution's office has appealed against the decision not to detain Ben Yedder in custody after the footballer was released following his detention, Nice prosecutor Damien Martinelli told the AP.
