Wimbledon calls time on line judges

The All England Club said on Wednesday that Wimbledon will defy convention and switch from line judges to automated line calling for the upcoming championships.
For 147 years, the Grand Slam has been characterized by the sight of spotlessly dressed line judges standing or crouched at the rear and side of the grass courts.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, electronic line calling gained traction after being utilized as an experiment at the 2017 ATP Next Gen Finals in Milan. Starting in 2025, it will be utilized on all courts during ATP Tour competitions.
