Ski chiefs join UN on climate change threats

The "existential threat" that climate change poses to winter sports will be addressed by ski and snowboard leaders in collaboration with United Nations weather specialists.
Due to inclement weather, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) had to postpone 26 of its 616 World Cup competitions in all disciplines last season.
"Winter sports and tourism face a bleak future because of climate change," it stated.
