Treesa-Gayatri upsets World No. 2 Baek-Lee

Rising Indian duo Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, together in the women's doubles division, upset South Korea's Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee to advance to the quarterfinals of the Singapore Open on Thursday.



Treesa and Gayatri, the bronze medallists from the Commonwealth Games, kept the Indian flag flying by defeating Baek and Lee in a nearly one-hour struggle with scores of 21-9, 14-21, and 21-15.

The world-ranked Indian pair defeated the world-ranked Korean pair in their first of three meetings, marking their first victory.
