Following the failure of Afcon2024, concluded by the elimination of the Indomitable Lions in the round of 16 against Nigeria (0-2), the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), Samuel Eto'o, presented his resignation.

This is revealed in a press release from the body published on Monday evening. “A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation was held this Monday, February 5 at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé. The agenda focused on the assessment of the participation of the National Men's Pennant Selection in the Afcon2024 in IvoryCoast.

At the start of the said meeting, the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Mr. Eto'o Fils Samuel, presented his resignation to the members of the federal executive body, inviting them to do the same with all soul and conscience,” explained the body. However, the legend's departure was refused by the Executive Committee, which convinced him to continue his mission.
