MetLife Stadium to Host Major Football Events

MetLife Stadium in New York is set to become a key venue for football over the next two years, hosting the 2026 World Cup final and the 2025 Club World Cup final. FIFA recently announced the twelve stadiums selected for this new competition, which will take place in the U.S. from June 15 to July 13, 2025. Besides MetLife, with its 82,000 seats, matches will be held in cities like Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Miami. This tournament, described as “the largest, most inclusive, and fairest global club competition” by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, has faced criticism for adding to an already crowded sports calendar. Thirty-two teams will participate.
