Venezuelan baseball player Tucupita Marcano of the San Diego Padres has been banned for life for betting on MLB games, the league announced on Tuesday. Marcano, 24, placed 387 bets on baseball in 2022-23 while with the Pittsburgh Pirates, including 231 on MLB games, for a total of $150,000. Four other players received 1-year suspensions for smaller-scale betting.
