Kaizer Chiefs Player Shot Dead In South Africa

Kaizer Chiefs defender Luke Fleurs has died after being shot during a hijacking in Honeydew, North of Johannesburg.


The fatal incident took place on Wednesday night at a petrol station while awaiting assistance.

The two armed suspects approached him instructed him to get out of his car and shot him in the upper body.

Police say one suspect drove off with the victim's car followed by his accomplice.
Fleurs was taken to the nearest medical care centre where he was certified dead on arrival.

The 24-year-old completed a dream move to the South African giants only a few months ago (October 2023) after agreeing on a two-year contract.
