Ethiopian Athlete Wins Fair Play Award

Letesenbet Gidey, Ethiopia’s world 10,000m silver medalist, was honored with the International Fair Play Award at the World Athletics Awards 2023.
Her moment of compassion occurred at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, where after securing silver in the women’s 10,000m, Gidey comforted Netherlands’ Sifan Hassan, who had a dramatic fall.
