Giroud, Lloris win maiden trophy in MLS


Los Angeles FC defeated Sporting Kansas City 3-1 in overtime to win the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup for the first time, with to goals from Omar Campos and Kei Kamara.
Olivier Giroud, a French striker, added another goal for LAFC, which won its fourth championship since the league's founding in 2018. In 2019 and 2022, the team won the Major League Soccer Supporters Shield for being the best club during the regular season. In 2022, they defeated the Philadelphia Union in penalty kicks to win the MLS Cup.
