Kejelcha sets new world half-marathon record

On his way to winning the Valencia Half Marathon, Yomif Kejelcha, an Ethiopian, broke a new world record.
In damp conditions, Kejelcha, who also owns the world record for the indoor mile, established in Boston in 2019, finished in 57 minutes and 30 seconds in the Spanish capital.
The 27-year-old's time was one second faster than the mark set three years ago in Lisbon by Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo.
