Ivanisevic says he needed a U-turn

Goran Ivanisevic claimed that he never saw himself teaching on the WTA Tour but that he "needed a U-turn" after splitting with Novak Djokovic, which is why he teamed up with 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
Before departing his squad in March, the Croatian assisted Djokovic in winning nine of his 24 Grand Slam titles. On Friday, he was appointed coach of Rybakina, ranked fifth in the world, for the 2025 campaign.
