Having played for the Republic of Ireland for a year, Sinead Farrelly has announced her retirement from international football.

The American-born midfielder debuted in April 2023 and participated in eight games in all, including three Nations League games and all three of the 2023 World Cup group stages.

The 34-year-old, who plays for NJ/NY Gotham in the National Women's Soccer League, the first division of women's soccer in the US, qualified for the Republic of Ireland through her father, who was born in Cavan.
