MLB suspends ex-New York Mets general manager

Billy Eppler, the former general manager of the New York Mets, has been suspended by Major League Baseball following an inquiry that revealed he had faked injuries.

"Deliberate fabrication of injuries" was one of Eppler's improper uses of the injured list, according to MLB.


Teams can free up slots on the roster by placing players on the injured list as long as they remain under club control.
