Emmanuel-Thomas charged after £600,000

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, a professional football player, was accused of planning an effort to smuggle drugs, and he appeared in court.
The 33-year-old striker, who is presently with Greenock Morton, was detained on Wednesday at his Gourock, near Glasgow, house and brought to Carlisle for interrogation.
The father of two declined to enter a plea in the Carlisle Magistrates court case, but his attorney stated that he wished to clear his name throughout the trial and that he "strenuously" denied involvement in any conspiracy to transport drugs into the UK.
