Australia's deputy prime minister, Richard Marles, and India's prime minister, Narendra Modi, gave Cummins the trophy. The two left the stage, leaving Cummins by himself, after they had shared the trophy with him and posed for pictures.

Waiting for his teammates to join him, the captain of Australia gave an awkward smile as he watched the leaders walk off the stage and shook hands with the rest of the Australian team.
