Ali Carter beats Judd Trump

Ali Carter defeated first seed Judd Trump 6-4 in the first quarterfinal of the Players Championship in Telford.

Trump threatened to tie the match 5-5, but Carter won a dramatic tenth frame to secure the victory.


Carter, the world number eight, will face Northern Ireland's Mark Allen or Welsh Open winner Gary Wilson in the semis.
